We had the honour of hosting a visit from Mr John Perry, T.D. Minister of State for Small Business. The Minister and other dignitaries were invited to have a look around our plant and gain a greater understanding of our business and how far we have come in 5 years since start up. Barrie and Ray, previously met Minister Perry at the National Enterprise Awards where he presented them with Best Exporter . He was delighted then to come to our business and have a look first hand on how we operate on a day to day basis.
Minister Perry took the opportunity also to speak on behalf of the Government and The Enterprise Board and reiterated the importance of businesses like Chia bia in changing the landscape of the economy. He had high praise for our product range also and examined the importance of food businesses in Ireland.
It was great to get the Ministers approval for the business and it was also great to be recognised for the efforts to date in developing the business from start up.
The Wonderful Catherine and Co from The Vee Bistro provided some lovely refreshments and a nice interlude to the speeches and photos.
To round things off, we took the opportunity to invite Minister Perry to unveil our plaque from Waterford Leader Partnership in recognition of the funding received from them to date.
Barrie subsequently went off with the entourage to engage in a round table discussion on the “Economic Future of Tramore” and from what he tells us things are looking bright. Lots of ideas brought to the table to ensure that Tramore is very much on the map in terms of growth and development.
Great Day in All!!
